The question behind this project was simple: what can I actually do in the garden this week?
Most planting calendars are good at listing crops and dates. They are less useful when you want a short plan for one particular place.
Gardening Tips Kit takes a US ZIP code or a supported city and returns:
Plant this week
Prepare next
Wait for now
It also creates a 12-week plan, a planting calendar, a printable PDF, and a shareable link. There is no account or email requirement.
The implementation is deliberately simple. It uses an estimated USDA zone and a small set of hand-maintained planting rules. There is no AI call and no live weather API.
That keeps the output consistent, but it also creates clear limits. A growing zone is not an exact frost date. A ZIP code cannot tell you about shade, soil, elevation, or a backyard's microclimate. When a location is not in the starter index, the result can be broad. The site tells users to check their local forecast and Extension guidance before planting tender crops.
I am trying to figure out whether this format is useful or too vague. If you try it, I would like to know:
Where does the plan feel wrong or too generic?
Does the 12-week view help, or is it too much?
What would you expect from a container-gardening mode?
