Alibaba Offering Cloud Computing Services for Chinese Financials

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. has begun offering a cloud service for financial companies, called Ju Baopen. At least eight banks have signed on to enable online payment services using Ju Baopen and Alipay, Alibaba’s third-party transaction system.

.....Banks and securities firms can alternatively purchase services from companies such as IBM, Oracle, or AMC to offer banking services through the cloud, but Alibaba is expecting its efficient offering to appeal to smaller banks.
