語源 / Etymology

ラテン語の historia（歴史、物語）に由来し、さらにその起源はギリシャ語の historía（探究、知識）にさかのぼる。ギリシャ語の histōr（知る者、賢者）から派生した言葉で、「調べて知る人」という意味が根底にある。英語には中英語期にフランス語を経由して入った。
